In Fall 2019, the beginning of my sophomore year, I joined MIT's premiere Afro-Caribbean dance team, Sakata Afrique. Over my years on the team, I choreographed and taught 8 dances. In my junior year, I served as the team's Social Chair before being the Co-Head Choreographer in my senior year.
As Co-head-cho, I managed the team's day-to-day affairs, leading practices, teaching dances, supporting others with learning and teaching their own pieces. I also collaborated in creating the set vision—formations, lighting directions, transitions, and themes—for the team's annual showcase, AfroShake.
In Spring 2021, due to COVID-19, I produced a set video showcasing the choreography learned that semester, in place of AfroShake.
